In this case, Honda of Oakland and Contra Costa Auto Auction gave two customers a built-in advantage by pre-installing LoJack GPS before delivery \u2013&nbsp;a choice that would prove critical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday, August 11, a Honda Civic was reported stolen. Just hours later, a Honda CR-V was taken from a residence. Both thefts were immediately reported to Oakland PD and the 24-Hour LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Hotline. The VINs were entered into LoJack LE, the no-cost platform that gives law enforcement a real-time view of LoJack-equipped stolen vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Detectives with the Alameda County Regional Auto Theft Task Force (ACRATT) quickly tracked the Civic to a residential neighborhood in Oakland. After confirming it was unoccupied, they maintained surveillance until it could be towed for safekeeping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before the paperwork was even finished, LoJack LE lit up again \u2013&nbsp;this time with the CR-V. ACRATT detectives followed the signal to an Oakland fourplex, where the SUV sat unoccupied.
