Fortunately, the Jeep was equipped with a LoJack GPS system. Once the owner alerted the 24-hour LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Hotline, the vehicle was instantly added to LoJack LE, the platform that provides law enforcement with live tracking data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Almost immediately, the Jeep\u2019s signal showed it heading southbound, raising concerns that it was en route to Mexico. Within minutes, officers from the California Highway Patrol joined detectives from the Foreign Export and Recovery (FEAR) Unit to intercept the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A marked patrol unit conducted a high-risk traffic stop on the freeway. The driver surrendered without incident and was taken into custody.
